The title says it all. Also, my head is a bit clouded of what i want to be in the future. I'm currently 18 years old in a Community College. I'm planning to transfer to Santa Cruz in Business Management/Economics. I heard a Financial Analyst helps plan and maximize people's profit, and that's what i like to do. I want to plan out things in a timely matter and i love to maximize profits from doing integrals of graphs (calculus). Any suggestions? Also, any difference with a Chartered Financial Analyst as well? Thanks everyone.|||Financial Analysts have a function to acquire %26amp; interpret financial data of companies, projects, etc. Their reports are used as tool to make managerial decisions.
A Financial Advisor is a person who gives recommendations on personal financial planning. They typically get paid by selling financial products either by commission or fee based
A Chartered Financial Analyst or CFA is a professional designation in the field of investment banking, investment management, %26amp; financial analysis of stocks, bonds, an associated derivatives.|||one analyses the finances
one advises how to handle your finances|||Read the first poster's anwser. One other difference is that a Financial Advisor is more of a salesperson. You should have a good personality and enjoy working with people. An analyst is more numbers oriented and good with that aspect. Something you may consider is getting an internship in your area of interest. I interned at Morgan Stanley when I was in college and learned from that that I didn't want to be a Financial Advisor. But doing that can help you get a better idea of which career path may be the better fit for you. The good thing is that since both are somewhat related (finance industry), experience that you gain in either field will help advance your career in the other field, should you decide to switch down the road. Good luck!
